Recently the Mississippi Gaming Commission approved the site selection for two North Dakota tribe interested in running casinos in Tunica, Mississippi. The tribes, one of which seeking an off reservation spot in order to build and run the casino, have been seeking land. The approval of the site selections is the first of a three step process, which would end in final approval for the tribes to break ground and begin construction. The tribes are the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and the Tree Affiliated Tribes. The approval of the site selection by the gaming commission could mean the eventual influx of a great deal of gaming revenue into the Mississippi economy.
