Wong on Dice
Anyone who is at all familiar with the gambling world knows the name of Stanford Wong. His book Professional Blackjack has been one of the must-have guides for blackjack players. Published in 1975, Professional Blackjack continues to have strong sales over thirty years later. Wong has also published books on tournament blackjack, sports betting and a number of other gambling-related works. Wong on Dice is the most recent literary outing by Stanford Wong, and it works on some levels and not on others.
What Wong is attempting to sell in this book is the idea that craps can be beaten to an extent with a technique known as controlled dice throwing. The amount of enjoyment you are going to gain from this book is going to be directly proportional to the amount of faith you put into the idea of controlled throwing. The idea is gaining more and more popularity, yet it is still statistically unproven. As more and more people begin to experiment with controlled throwing, there will be more evidence as to the validity of the play style.
Wong's book is good for the player who wants to begin attempting controlled dice throwing. If this is something that you've been doing for years, buy another book. Wong himself is a newcomer to the world of controlled dice throwing and his experiences and commentary at this point are that of a new initiate into the world of controlled dice throwing.
