How to Gamble at the Casinos Without Getting Plucked Like a Chicken
This is another book in the "jack of all trades" venue of gambling guide. Instead of attempting to make you a master of a single casino game, How To Gamble attempts to educate the reader by giving them a glimpse of every game, and letting them decide which ones they want to look further into. The book gives the standard odds of the games, and tells the reader which games are designed with greater house advantages.
The book wants to be good, yet doesn't quite make it. There are factual errors in chapters that have not been edited, and there are other facts which are available in other basic casino guides that are simply missing in How To Gamble. With a seemingly high price for a overall-view type of book, there are other books of a similar nature that provide a better description of what can be found in the casinos.
Another problem with this book would be found in the online reviews. While certain publishers will insert one review that comes from a professional to "hype" the book, How To Gamble seems to have very few reviews that are not written by professionals. The result is many people buying a book that they were lead to believe contains information that is lacking from the actual text. It's a shame that people are being tricked into buying the book, but that will change once enough people send in their real reviews.
