Casino Games
If you're new to the world of casinos, it's nice to have a book that can break you in to the general ideas behind most of the games available for you to play. Granted, you would be more informed if you were to read individual books on blackjack, roulette, craps, and etc. but if you're simply going to have a good time, multiple books are too much of an investment, both in time and in money. That is where books like Casino Games come in handy. They present a good overview while not getting bogged down in the technicalities of the specific games.
This book does what it sets out to do, and does it well. Upon completing the book, players have a general understanding of the major games that can be found at the casino. Will you gain the ability to count cards or play perfect strategy by reading this book? No. Will you be able to get around the casino without looking like a moron? Yes, and that's the important thing.
The only thing about this book is the fact that it was published in 1988, and due to that fact doesn’t contain some of the more recent casino additions, such as Caribbean stud and whatnot. If you can get past that, this book is a must read for the first-time, casual gambling fan.
The best part is that you can find this book used for next to nothing. It's nice to have the most recent gambling guide, but for $.06, this book is well worth every penny spent.
