Best Blackjack
Written by Frank Scoblete, a name that is synonymous with writing book on casino gambling, and ways to win at said games, Best Blackjack is one book among thousands that attempt to make blackjack players out sheer novices. This book weighs in at a nice 283 pages. Not too much to take down, but not so little as to not serve the purpose of educating would-be blackjack players.
Reading this book is a lot like listening to a crazy grandfather regale the family with tales of gambling exploits. Some of the most interesting parts of the book are the personal gambling experiences of Mr. Scoblete. That is not to say that the learning material described in this book is not entertaining in it's own right, it is simply that the most enjoyable parts of this book are the stories.
The negative on this book is the fact that Scoblete relies heavily on citation for information. You will find many other books and theories referenced in Best Blackjack, but you won't find anything that you can't find somewhere else. It's sturdy, it's stable and it really does show that the basics are the best for the most part.
If you want a brand-new edition of this book, you're going to pay $6.99, which is not a bad price at all. If you don't mind getting a used copy, you can buy Best Blackjack for just over $3, which is an even better price. Buy it and enjoy it, just don't expect a gambling revelation from this book.
