A Canadian casino claims that a software glitch is responsible for providing an erroneous jackpot payout figure to two men who were playing a nickel slot machine on site, and as a result says they should not have to pay the hefty prize. The two men, playing in the Manitoba gambling house, scored a jackpot reportedly at CAD $209,000, and would like to get paid.
The casino is holding to the defense that the payout figure was wrong and they won't pay. The men have sued the casino, and their lawyer states that it is irrelevant if a mistake was made; the machine said $209,000, so the casino should pay his clients $209,000. The machine will undergo testing by an independent agent to further determine the outcome of the case.
