Boomtown Casino Booms With 750 Employees

Great news for 750 casino employees happened on Thursday when Boomtown casino reopened, recovered form the devastation wreaked on the Biloxi area in August by Hurricane Katrina. Joining four other casinos that have opened their doors (Treasure Bay, IP, Isle of Capri and New Palace), Boomtown has given jobs to 465 former employees from before Katrina and 285 new employees.

When the casino opened their doors they had customers from all over, including a majority from Florida, which surprised the owners. Boomtown mostly catered to the local Biloxi gamblers before Katrina, being the only area casino sans hotel. All in all about five thousand casino employees are back to work after Katrina affected the industry so negatively last year.
